Position sizing guide

Size every trade from risk, not gut feel

Position size is how many kitta, lots, units, or shares you buy so that a stop-loss hit costs a known fraction of your account. The formula is the same across markets: risk amount divided by what you lose per unit if price reaches the stop.

CandleTrace's free calculator applies that formula to NEPSE (NPR, whole kitta), Forex (standard / mini / micro lots from pips or price), Crypto (exact units), and US Equities (exact shares). Gold, index CFDs, and futures use contract multipliers so a $1 move is not treated like a $1 stock.

After you have a size, journal the trade. A calculator protects the next fill. A journal shows whether your 1% plan actually survived the week.

NEPSE

Account currency stays NPR. Risk is a percent of equity or a fixed NPR amount. Entry and stop are NPR prices. Output is whole kitta plus total position value in NPR.

Forex

Account currency is USD, EUR, or GBP. Enter the stop as pips or as a price. Results list standard, mini, and micro lots for the same risk.

Crypto

Size in exact coin units from dollar (or USDT) risk and the distance between entry and stop. Fractional units are allowed.

US Equities

Same math as NEPSE, labeled in shares and USD. Use it for AAPL, NVDA, and other cash equities where 1 unit is 1 share.
